Jean Alesi passes the Evora initiation test
We couldn't help smiling at the by-now obligatory picture of the current/past F1 star next to a Lotus Evora - it has become a rite of passage for famous motor racing visitors to Lotus' Hethel headquarters, although we can't help wondering why one of the New Era models wasn't used instead (at least for the photo call).

Lotus and Mansell are reunited for Dubai 24 hours
31 years after Formula 1 World Champion Nigel Mansell made his F1 debut in a Lotus courtesy of Colin Chapman, his sons Leo (26) and Greg (23) will get behind the wheel of the new Lotus Evora GT4 Endurance at next weekend's Dubai 24 hour race.

Introducing the Porsche 918 RSR (incl. VIDEO)
As expected Porsche have revealed their new 918 RSR mid-engine coupé, based on the 918 Spyder Concept and to be used as a technology test bed for future hybrid vehicles. Porsche are saying that the 918 RSR is purely a 'test bed' and they have no plans at this stage for a a motorsport programme.

Porsche’s 918 RSR World Premiere
In just a few hours we'll know exactly what Porsche has been concocting back at Weissach to become its first new model of 2011. In a sense we already know that it will be a fully-manufactured product based on the gorgeous 918 Spyder Concept, the mid-engine hybrid concept sports car first revealed by Porsche at Geneva last March.

MINI WRC Team announce Dani Sordo for 2011
Spanish driver Dani Sordo has been chosen for the new MINI WRC Team in the 2011 FIA World Rally Championship. He will team up with Kris Meeke (GB) when MINI makes its return to rallying with the MINI WRC this coming season.

Aston Martin has released an awesome short-film bringing together two of it's most iconic cars together on the same piece of road. Yes, I did mean to say 'road' rather than 'race track'- for it's on this private leafy stretch of tarmac that both cars seduce us with their looks and unbridled sense of power.
