MINI withdraws from the World Rally Championship
It's been something of an ignominious end for MINI's World Rally Championship return - having rolled up at the start of the 2011 season with the newly developed Countryman WRC, the car was initially competitive in the hands of drivers Chris Meeke and Dani Sordo.

It always seemed an unlikely project for Infiniti Brand Ambassador and Red Bull Racing F1 driver, Sebastian Vettel, to get involved in - surely the combination of a two-time F1 world champion with Nissan's luxury brand could have come up with something more 'in keeping' than a moderately-quick SUV?

Red Bull Stratos Mission: Felix Baumgartner makes one giant leap for mankind.. (w/Headcam Footage)
When in 1969 Neil Armstrong stepped foot on the Moon and said "That's one small step for (a) man, one giant leap for mankind", Felix Baumgartner was just 3 months old. Who would have thought that 43 years later the Austrian skydiver would be making the biggest leap any man has made when he attempts a supersonic freefall from 120,000 ft (almost 36km) this afternoon.

All-new Porsche Cayenne Turbo S now comes with 542bhp (w/VIDEO)
After lumbering on for over a year with 'just' 493bhp, Porsche has finally seen fit to add the letter 'S' to the Cayenne Turbo's name, bringing with it an extra 49bhp. That places it just 5bhp short of BMW's X5 M, but it's likely to be considerably more expensive.

Honda’s WTCC programme on target to deliver the next Civic Type R (w/VIDEO)
Last month at the Paris Motor Show, Honda announced that a new Type R was on its way for European customers, with the simple aim of becoming the fastest front-wheel-drive car around the 12.9 mile Nürburgring.
Their approach to achieving this goal is through racing, specifically competing in the FIA World Touring Car Championships with drivers Tiago Montiero and Fabrizio Giovanardi. And the brand new car they are developing for the series, is due to make its debut on 20th October, at the Suzuka rounds of this year’s championship.

Usain Bolt, Nissan’s ‘Director of Excitement’, chooses his own GT-R
A unique Nissan GT-R, embossed with Olympic Champion Usain Bolt's signature will be auctioned on eBay later this month to benefit the Usain Bolt Foundation. Proceeds will go towards creating opportunities for children in Bolt's home of Jamaica.

Pippa Mann: The future in her own words..
Last week a well-known British tabloid published an interview with British race car driver, Pippa Mann, the first ever British woman to contest the Indianapolis 500. For reasons that will be obvious to anyone who follows the American IndyCar Series, it was a tasteless article which Mann was subsequently horrified and furious about.
