Call me a sad old romantic, but I love these images of Jaguar's iconic E-Type and XF in New York. We're so often presented with press images devoid of any life or emotion, that when these arrived last night I thought it warranted an article all on its own.

Scion introduces the FR-S Sports Coupe Concept
Lovely isn't it? This is the new Scion FR-S and if it looks somewhat familiar then that's because Scion is a North American brand owned by Toyota, and you've seen this car as the Toyota FT-86 II concept.

Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 makes its Asian debut in China
The V12 Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 made its Asian debut this morning on Lamborghiniās stand at the Auto Shanghai 2011. The event also marked the launch of the Gallardo LP 550-2 Tricolore at a special off-site event held in the Shanghai Expo. The LP 550-2 Tricolore was developed to pay homage to Italy, but this was the first time it had been shown in China.

Porsche Cayenne: greater efficiency brings more power
From June 2011 the Porsche Cayenne and Panamera will receive detailed improvements, additions and new options together with more efficient engines that produce lower CO2 emissions. So to celebrate these gains in frugality, they've added more power - well this is Porsche after all.

Subaru’s XV Concept hints at the next-generation Forester
It's called the XV Concept, but it looks a lot like where Subaru are likely to be heading with a Forester replacement. Launched this morning at the Shanghai Auto Show, Subaru describes the XV Concept as "..defining a new generation of crossover vehicle, blending traditional SUV practicality within a fashionable form."

Volkswagen puts the Bug back into the Beetle
The original Volkswagen Beetle built between 1938 and 2003, became the longest-running and most-produced vehicle in the history of the car, with over 21 million units sold in its 65-year lifespan. It was developed by Ferdinand Porsche under instruction from Der Führer himself, Adolf Hitler, as the Type 1 Volkswagen - which literally means "people's car" in German.

Citroƫn reveals its radical new DS5
The DS3 put Citroƫn back on the shopping list of drivers looking for something with a bit of flair and the joie de vivre that the French brand became so famous for. The mid-sized DS4 offered a less funky interpretation of Citroƫn's joie-design range, looking more like a re-skin of the humble C4 than an innovative new design - but now with the DS5, Citroƫn have turned the funk back up to ten.

Mazda’s new compact SUV to be named CX-5
Mazda announced today that its all-new compact crossover SUV, which is scheduled to launch in the UK in 2012, will be called the Mazda CX-5. The new CX-5 is based on Mazda MINAGI concept car, which debuted at the Geneva Motor Show in March this year and will be shown at the New York International Auto Show that opens in a few days time (April 20, 2011).
