Peugeot has become the second manufacturer in as many days to confirm a popular concept for production with the announcement that the RCZ will make its debut in Frankfurt.

The RCZ concept was first shown in 2007 at the Frankfurt show looking very production ready, so its announcement as a production car isn’t a complete surprise. While it will have almost certainly lost the bling-bling carriage clock and massive wheels, the teaser shots appear to show a car that hasn’t strayed too far from the design we saw two years ago.

Peugeot has said that the 2+2 RCZ is going to be aimed at enthusiasts and we assume that they’re hoping to snag a few potential TT customers who need an extra pair of seats for young children.

The RCZ will go on sale in Spring next year, but no more details have been announced.
