There's an interesting story coming out of Audi Motorsport this morning confirming that their newly-crowned DTM champion, Martin Tomczyk, has left the Ingolstadt brand by mutual agreement. Tomczyk has been a factory driver for Audi since the 2001 season and at 19-years old was the youngest ever DTM driver at the time.

There is no word (as yet) where Tomczyk will next appear, BMW are evaluating drivers for its 3-car entry in the 2012 DTM season and have so far confirmed just 3 of their 6 drivers (Augusto Farfus, Andy Priaulx and Bruno Spengler).

The long-running saga between Group Lotus and Tony Fernandes' 1Malaysia Racing Team has been brought to an amicable conclusion. In a joint-statement released earlier this morning, Proton, Group Lotus, 1Malaysia Racing Team and its owner Tony Fernandes announced that the legal dispute in the English Courts relating to the "LOTUS" and "TEAM LOTUS" brands had now ended with the parties agreeing settlement terms earlier this month.

The RSR has long been 'The Daddy' of all Porsche's racing models and at one time was the GT sportscar to have for any self-respecting race team, but in recent years the competition has become tougher with the Corvette ZR1, Ferrari F458 Italia and BMW M3 GT all taking their share of the winner's garlands.

Mercedes DTM lead driver, Bruno Spengler, has left the Stuttgart team and signed with BMW Motorsport, joining Andy Priaulx and Augusto Farfus. Bruno is the 3rd driver to be confirmed for the BMW factory teams, which will field 6 cars in the 2012 DTM series.

On the eve of the inaugural Indian Grand Prix at the Buddh International Circuit, New Delhi, news reaches us of a second project, this time for a Grand Prix standard racing circuit in Mumbai - approximately 1,400 km south west of the nation’s capital.

Next season's DTM series promises to be a classic, as BMW join Mercedes and Audi on track for the first time since 1995. For the DTM season finale at Hockenheim today, the contenders met for the first time in a friendly demonstration for the fans.

Earlier this evening BMW revealed the new BMW M Performance Accessories liveried M3 DTM to selected members of the public, two days before the car makes an appearance as part of the season-ending DTM event at the neighbouring Hockenheimring.
