Fabia vRS 2000 design concept – A most unlikely Å koda

2011 is the 30th anniversary of the Wörthersee Tour, better known as GTI-Treffen, which is held each year in the beautiful surroundings of Reifnitz, by Lake Wörthersee. And this year, the designers and engineers within VW Audi Group have pulled out all the stops to showcase some stunning one-off specials.

Nissan makes the 2011 GT-R just a ‘little’ more affordable

It seems a little frivolous to be offering free servicing on a £69,950 supercar, but Nissan seem to think it will make all the difference in convincing would-be 911 buyers to choose its top-range model instead. Whilst affordability and peace of mind are key attributes of the rest of Nissan's range, we think it sits a little uneasily alongside a car which can lap the Nurburgring in less than 7 minutes and 30 seconds, but hey, let's not look a gift horse in the mouth.

Tim Harvey retires from the Porsche Carrera Cup GB

It's a sad day for those of us who've followed Tim's career, initially in British Touring Cars and then for the past 7 years in the UK's Porsche Carrera Cup, to hear that he's chosen to step down from racing in the UK’s fastest single-make championship. Tim is one of those unique drivers - a Bear of a man but with the deft touch of watch maker - he could muscle a 911 GT3 Cup around a track extracting every ounce of its potential, whilst keeping something in reserve for the latter stages of a race when worn tyres were hampering his competitors. He will be sorely missed.

Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster: The Gullwing becomes a Hot Rod

I must admit I've never been a fan of the gullwing doors on the SLS AMG, they add complexity where it really wasn't needed and distract from the SLS AMG's virtues as a driving machine. The New SLS AMG Roadster, that Mercedes officially revealed this morning, returns to a more purist design with the added bonus of releasing more of the AMG 6.3-litre V8's wonderful sound for the enjoyment of its driver and passenger.

Team Lotus wins the right to use its name in Formula 1

Just over an hour ago the High-Court case between Team Lotus and Group Lotus reached its conclusion and as we expected Mr Justice Peter Smith made his verdict in favour of Tony Fernandes' 1Malaysia Racing Team, who were judged to be the true owner of the 'Team Lotus' name and its iconic roundel.
