Although the 2011 DTM driver's championship has already been clinched by Audi's Martin Tomczyk, the team title is still up for grabs with Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline leading by just 5 points (77 pts) over THOMAS SABO / Mercedes-Benz Bank AMG (72 pts). There's also the consolation prize of 'Vice-Champion' to be decided, which will go to either Mercedes' Bruno Spengler (51 pts) or Audi's Mattias Ekström (49 pts).

As tributes continue to flood in for British driver Dan Wheldon, I suspect many of you are only now learning what a great ambassador he was for the sport. I never met Dan, but like many enthusiasts I enjoyed watching his rise to fame in IndyCar racing and the irrepressible spirit he showed when he sniffed the opportunity of a race win.

Sometimes a great photo is all about good timing.. and a little bit of luck. This one from today's DTM race in Oschersleben tells an interesting story. Running 2nd in the race Mercedes driver Bruno Spengler was on course to secure the championship lead, but a technical problem with the front of the car prevented him finishing the race.

I love this image. It's from last weekend's Intercontinental Le Mans Challenge (ILMC) 6-hour race at Silverstone and depicts a meeting of two generations of Le Mans Audis - the current R18 TDI and R8C from 1999.

It was all-go at the Frankfurt motor show yesterday as Mercedes-Benz launched their new Mercedes C-Coupé DTM and Audi their A5 DTM. Meanwhile new-entrants BMW were on track at the Lausitzring putting their own 2012 DTM challenger to the test.
