Credibility. Essential if a fledging supercar manufacturer is to survive, but not easy to come by. Pagani is perhaps the exception to the rule – such was the quality of the original Zonda C12 and the dynamic polish lavished upon it that Pagani very quickly joined the establishment. Of course it helped that the Zonda was built in Modena, and that Pagani himself had once worked for Lamborghini. So Bicocchi will (hopefully) make it drive properly, but I hope someone gets round to styling it rather than what looks like a photoshop of an Enzo with 911 turbo driving lights and 430 scuderia front nostrils. The side profile picture will probably have Ferrari’s lawyers knocking on the door for copyright infringement!

The obvious visual similarities are unfortunate, but it could be worse: they could have ‘borrowed’ some ideas from the California…
Whatever it ends up looking like I can’t help thinking the AF10 will be absolutely mega when its done, especially if Loris works his magic. Arash has had the misfortune of doing all his learning in public, but his passion and commitment are extraordinary, especially for someone who until quite recently was buying supercars rather than building them. I say good on him!

Richard, I hope the market shares your optimism but with the likes of Ferrari and Aston making substantial cut backs in production and staff, I’m not sure now is the right time to be developing another extrovert supercar.

Yep, unfortunately we’re all at the mercy of the market at the moment, but if everyone stops dead in their tracks the next decade will be awfully dull for us car enthusiasts.
I’m sure there are still some people making plenty of money at the moment, so hopefully they’ll still want to spend some of it on cars. I’m not sure how many Arash need to sell, but as a small, self-funded company it is probably better placed than many to continue in the hope of a revived market in 09/10.
