Audi is gearing up to reveal their new A7 later this month, a car that should compete on a par with Mercedes’ CLS, BMW’s 5-series GT (or a future Grand Coupe Concept) and perhaps even Porsche’s Panamera. The A7 is based on the Sportback Concept, with its 5 door and 4-seat configuration.
A microsite has been launched (currently hosted by Audi Netherlands) to gather expressions of interest and reveal further details.
The A7’s profile resembles that of the A5 Sportback, although it’s unclear whether it will adopt such a tag, but with frameless windows and built on the same platform as the new A8 it is all set to join the ranks of the growing crop of sporty 4-seat coupes. We understand that an RS model is in the pipeline, with the (by now) typical 500+ bhp powerplant and four-wheel drive, although that’s unlikely to arrive until several years from now.
The A7 is due to be displayed at next month’s Moscow Autoshow with sales beginning by the end of the year, but it will be revealed online sometime before the end of this month. We’ll bring you more information when we receive it.
