The 202bhp Citroen DS3 Cabrio Racing Concept will debut at this week’s Goodwood Festival of Speed prior to appearing at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.

It’s powered by the same engine found in the 1.6-litre DS3 Racing mated to the body shell of the recently launched DS3 Cabrio.

It weighs just 25kg more than the hatchback and is extensively customised with a bespoke Moondark matt textured grey paintwork, gloss black 19” alloy wheels and black chrome inserts on the handles, boot trim and door mirrors.

A distinctive DS pattern appears on the black canvas roof and is also engraved on the door mirror housings. Meanwhile the brake callipers, wheel hubs, doors with wide side strips and parts of the lettering and badge are coloured in dynamic Carmin red.

Inside there are bucket seats with a DS watchstrap design in three types of fabric – Nappa full-grain leather, DS-embossed leather and Alcantara. A special DS pearl top-stitching, in the same Carmin shade as the exterior lettering, is featured on the seats, dashboard and gearshift while the Carmin colour theme continues on the seat housings and dashboard.

As an added touch for the Concept, Citroen have created a special child seat upholstered in three-material watchstrap leather and a pair of colour-coordinated rally helmets.

The DS3 Cabrio Racing will be on display throughout the Goodwood weekend at the Citroën stand.
