Also on the rally theme, we bring you a report on the McRae Stages Rally, run by the Coltness Car Club in Perthshire’s classic forest stages – and also featuring a 1,000 mile road trip test of the technofest BMW 730D.

And, covering the race base is ROAD staffer and Travis drummer, Neil Primrose. He took the new Honda Civic Type R ‘Championship White’ edition on a road trip to the Nordschleife – where he got hooked on the thrilling VLN race series, taking part in an old shape, 250 bhp, 1025Kg Civic Type R… in training for his planned NBR 24Hr racing career.
