Three down and just three more images to go before Lamborghini assembles the jigsaw puzzle and unveils what it’s been trying to tease us about.

With only 10 days until the big event (September 30, from 7.45 am) we can expect the teasers to arrive more frequently, I only hope the end product will be something they actually make, unlike the still-born Estoque sports saloon of 2008.

So what is this new model likely to be?

Well it’s not a sports saloon – so we’re not expecting a phoenix-like return of the Estoque. Lamborghini have promised a sportscar made predominantly from carbon fibre and thereby considerably lighter than any existing model in the range. Their focus is on acceleration and handling, lower CO2 emissions and use of innovative technologies.

Will it be another hybrid supercar? (in the mold of the 911 GT3 R Hybrid) Perhaps. But Lamborghini also go on to say that “..we cannot reduce safety or comfort in our cars.”, so it doesn’t sound like a stripped out track racer.

Lamborghini say that they are redefining the future of their supersportscars around the two main reasons to buy: design and performance. This further reinforces the sense that it’s not a one-off special but instead a signpost for all future Lamborghinis.

We’ll show more teasers over the next few days, meanwhile take a look at the 3 images we’ve been able to bring you thus far.
