BMW has announced an updated version of its 3-litre twin turbo diesel motor.
The new version of the ‘30d’ engine uses a brace of updated turbochargers and the latest specification high-pressure diesel injectors, which up the pressure from 1600 to 2000bar. The changes have resulted in an increase in power from 286hp and 428lb ft to 306hp and 442lb ft but reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by four percent.
