If you’re anything like us then you’re probably fascinated by those little nuances that separate the die-hard petrolhead from the mere enthusiast. Well don’t get caught out at the next pub quiz by being ignorant of Porsche’s farm machinery heritage.
Didn’t know that Porsche made tractors? Well they did in the 1950s and 1960s and now a website has been created bringing together all the interesting facts and stories behind these extraordinary machines.
The new website Porsche Tractors, provides an overview of each model complete with full-colour photographs. There’s even an astonishing tractor called the Coffee Train (pictured below) that was designed specifically for use on Brazilian coffee plantations.
They may not have a high top speed or fast acceleration, but these tractors are just as intriguing in their own way as today’s high-performance Porsche sports cars.
