We have a new watch to add to our guide to motoring-inspired timepieces, celebrating Bentley’s recent World Ice Speed Record their timepiece partner Breitling have now produced a strictly limited-edition SuperSports Light Body watch.

Breitling for Bentley’s new super-sporty titanium model is revealed today at Geneva and will be on display, together with Bentley’s new Supersports ‘Ice Speed Record’ convertible at the Bentley stand.

Just a fortnight ago four-time World Rally Champion Juha Kankkunen, set a new World Ice Speed Record in a Bentley Continental Supersports convertible on the hazardous frozen waters of the Baltic Sea, off the coast of Finland. He reached a breathtaking 205.48 mph (330.695 km/h) in the Conti Supersports, breaking his own 2007 record of 199.83 mph (321.6 km/h) set in a Continental GT coupe at the same location.

The new Breitling for Bentley watch powerfully complements the design of the Supersports convertible. With its light and sturdy titanium chassis, its “dashboard-style” dial enhanced by three ringed counters and its bezel with a typically Bentley-style raised knurled motif, the Supersports Light Body limited series is said to evoke a sophisticated high-powered coupé car.

In tribute to its sporting qualities, Breitling has equipped it with an intelligent and exclusive double-counter system, featuring a central minute hand and a twin-handed totaliser enabling one to read the elapsed hours and minutes at a glance just as one usually reads standard time on a watch.

It is water-resistant to 100 metres and comes as standard with a dark rubber strap.
