With just over a month to go until the 20th anniversary Goodwood Festival of Speed, the organisers have confirmed 125 motorsport stars, from the past and present, who’ll be attending and in many cases driving (or riding) up the famous Goodwood hill.

These, together with a host of memorable and often outrageous, vehicles and competitors, will provide a fitting anniversary treat for the world’s most popular celebration of motor sport history and car culture.

Seven of the current 2013 season F1 teams are confirmed for Goodwood including Red Bull, Ferrari, McLaren, Lotus, Mercedes, Marussia and Caterham. While current F1 drivers and leading names in action at the Festival will include world champions, Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton, as well as Nico Rosberg, Roman Grosjean, Max Chilton, Jules Bianchi, Sebastian Buemi, Marc Gene, Heikki Kovalainen and Adrian Newey.

Joining the roll-call of motorsport greats will be Alain Prost, Nelson Piquet, Sir Stirling Moss, Sir Jackie Stewart, John Surtees, Nick Heidfeld, Jochen Mass, Emerson Fittipaldi and Rene Arnoux, while Nick Heidfeld will be reunited with the McLaren MP4/13 that he so famously launched up the Goodwood Hill in a record time of 41.6 seconds in 1999.

Alain-ProstRenault ambassador and four-time F1 champion Alain Prost will drive a Renault RE40 plus the new TwinRun concept up the hill.

From the world of rallying, IRC Champion, Andreas Mikkelsen will be spitting gravel in the 2013 VW Polo WRC, as will Spanish double World Champion Carlos Sainz, whilst Mikko Hirvonen’s Citroen DS3 WRC will be in full flight on the Goodwood Forest Rally Stage. Other rallying greats include Juha Kankkunen, Björn Waldegård, Rauno Aaltonen, Jimmy McRae, Hannu Mikkola and Russell Brookes, who will be reacquainted with the cars that made them famous.

There’s also the Moving Motor Show on Thursday 11th, where you’ll be able to view the show stands before the main Festival of Speed begins the following day.
