Volvo’s performance and motorsports partner, Polestar, is preparing a new vehicle, set to launch on Tuesday 26th November.
It’s unclear if it will be a show star prototype like the 508bhp S60 Polestar Concept or an actual production vehicle, although judging by the sound it makes (in the video above) it has crowd-pleasing qualities which point towards it being a concept.

The engine sounds closer to an inline-six than a four, but then a 350bhp production version of the S60 Polestar Concept has already been announced (for the Australian market), so there’s no reason for any intrigue and subterfuge – unless of course its the V60 variant that’s been seen lapping the Nurburgring.
The model which is most overdue to receive the full Polestar treatment is the V40, so we’ll just keep our fingers crossed for the mother of all hot hatches which will take the fight to the Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG.
We’ll bring you more news as we get it, meanwhile keep an eye out for the #nextpolestar hashtag on Twitter.

The S60 Polestar Limited Edition (saloon) retails in Australia for AUS $109,950, or around £64,000, and is powered by a 3.0-litre 6-cylinder inline T6 engine producing 350bhp and 500Nm of torque. Production is limited to just 50 units and there are currently no plans to offer the model in other markets.
