With a little over six weeks to go until the Geneva Motor Show, Toyota has released a teaser image of its FT-86 Open concept – a convertible/roadster version of the popular GT86 sports coupé.
Toyota say the show car will help them gauge public reaction to the idea as a possible future development, although they’re also carrying out engineering tests of a fully-working prototype – so it’s clearly more than just an ‘idea’.
A production version of the GT86 convertible seems all but inevitable, given the work that’s already been undertaken, so expect to see this on sale sometime in 2014.
Of course you could see it even earlier, by popping down to the Geneva Motor Show in March.
