BMW has unveiled their Concept M135i at Geneva this morning, showcasing its new 3-door 1 Series design and the first six-cylinder petrol engine M Performance model.
The M Performance model range, is closer in concept to Audi’s ‘S’ models, where their RS models are positioned head-to-head with BMW’s M cars, so the Concept M135i is not a replacement for the 1 Series M Coupe, even though both cars look to use similar powerplants with over 300 bhp.
BMW M Performance models have noticeably increased agility over standard models, more controllable handling characteristics and a more emotional design, although the front spoiler, rear valance, side skirts and stripes can all be purchased individually from BMW’s M Performance catalogue.
Powered by a straight-six petrol engine featuring M Performance Twin Power Turbo technology, the Concept M135i features large air intakes, an M sports braking system and 18-inch M light alloys with a double spoke design.
The Concept M135i will only be on display during the Geneva motor show press days (6 – 7 March 2012), so please don’t journey over if that’s your only reason for attending.
