Japanese website Motors Blog have spent their Christmas hanging out at Suzuka circuit, where they captured some stunning pictures and video footage of Honda’s new GT500 challenger in action.
The 3.4-litre V8-powered race car based on Honda’s still-born NSX replacement, was seen lapping the track in preparation for its first race in the Japanese SuperGT series in May.
As we mentioned last week, this car is based on the NSX prototype that was previously thought to be canned. We can only hope that with improving economic conditions, Honda find justification to make the production version soon.

Just been listening to this video for a second time – it sounds awesome doesn’t it? Reminds me of an F1 engine and around Suzuka it looks seriously quick.
Quite surprised that it ‘only’ has 500 bhp.
I’d love to see the FIA GT class contenders mixing it up with these SuperGT cars.
