You know the drill. The monthly magazines are provided with an early scoop on a new launch, so that they can prepare their front-page layouts and ensure the car maker’s promised-child appears prominently in their next issue. Then in fear of being gazumped by another magazine, the said monthly decides to leak a few images on the interweb, thus earning them oodles of backlinks and saving at least £10k in search marketing costs.
So here we are yet again. This time courtesy of German magazine AutoZeitung.
The core details are as follows; 552 bhp @6000 rpm and 501 lb-ft (680 Nm) from 1,500 rpm from the M5’s new twin-turbocharged V8 engine. Performance is equally as stunning with 0-62 mph achieved in 4.4 seconds, 124 mph reached from zero in around 13 seconds and a top speed of 189 mph when the F10 M5 is fitted with the M-Drivers Package.
Price in Germany is around 100,000 Euros, which would equate to just over £80,000 here in the UK.
BMW is set to officially unveil the new F10 M5 at the Nürburgring ‘M Festival’ on 23rd June 2011, but in the meantime enjoy the gallery.
