Not wishing to be outdone by the launch of BMW’s M3 DTM Concept, Audi has revealed a rendering of its own 2012 challenger – the A5 DTM Concept. Internally named “R17”, the A5 DTM will replace the four-door A4 DTM with which Audi has won the DTM title four times since 2004.
There were no specific details to accompany the renderings, apart from confirmation that the A5 DTM uses a high-strength carbon-fiber monocoque with steel roll cage as per the A4 DTM, powered by the same high-revving 453 bhp V8 engine.
The 2012 DTM series just got a whole lot more interesting…
