In its 50th anniversary year, what better way to mark the occasion than occupying the ‘Central Feature’ at the 2013 Festival of Speed? That’s the honour bestowed on Porsche’s 911 at the world’s biggest garden party event for cars.
Haven’t been yet? Well now’s your chance, because it will feature a bespoke 911-inspired sculpture, displayed as has become the tradition, outside Goodwood House.
Porsche is also preparing a stunning line-up of 911 race and road cars with support from the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart, private collectors and enthusiasts.
Cars already confirmed include the 1967 model 911 stopping off as part of its world tour, some historic special edition 911s and other significant Porsche competition cars from the past five decades including the 356, 908, 917 and 962.
Porsche has also promised to make further special announcements during the event.
Goodwood is marking its own anniversary celebrations in 2013 – which is the 20th year of the Festival of Speed – so expect one of the biggest and best Festival of Speeds worthy of the occasion.
