Frankfurt 2011: Audi presents the new A5 DTM

On the eve of the Frankfurt Motor Show, Audi has unveiled its much-anticipated 2012 DTM challenger - the A5 DTM. Bearing the internal project name "R17" at Audi Sport, the new A5 DTM conforms to the new technical regulations that will come into effect for the 2012 DTM season, which have been designed to achieve three key aims: improve the safety of the vehicle, reduce costs by up to 40 percent and showcase a spectacular exterior design.

Peugeot Sport reveals the New 2012 RCZ competition car

The circuit of Albi was the focus yesterday for the world premiere of Peugeot Sport’s new production-car competition model. The RCZ Peugeot Sport adds to, rather than replaces, any of Peugeot Sport’s existing competition models (206, 207 or Spider) and will compete primarily within the one-make RCZ Racing Cup in 2012.

Porsche improves the 911 GT3 R for 2012

For the 2012 season Porsche have upgraded the 911 GT3 R, adding a further 20 bhp (now 493 bhp), providing quicker steering wheel mounted paddle-shifts, a softer anti-roll bar on the front axle to reduce understeer and an automatic throttle blip control, making it almost impossible to miss a gear and over-rev the engine. The 911 GT3 R remains based on the 997 platform rather than the latest 991.
