It’s certainly different. Does it make you gag, or do you see it as BMW trying to connect with its customers?

I for one really enjoy this advert. I don’t think it’s too tacky, and it’s nice to see them acknowledging how important some of their classics like the E30 M3 and the Z1 are to their heritage. Very few manufacturers could get away with it like BMW can (VW is another – remember their Golf GTI “generations” advert when the MK4 was on sale) and it’s certainly a hell of a lot better than some obscure, “arty” advert that means nothing to anyone.

I agree with you Antony. I’ve become rather tired of the clinical BMW adverts with their ‘Efficient Dynamics’ nonsense. We buy cars because of how they make us feel, not because they are good for the planet.
Yes, of course we like to be considerate but using this as your core marketing message just creates smugness and that shouldn’t be all there is to owning a dynamic car like a BMW.
I was genuinely surprised when I first watched this advert – I own 2 BMW’s and this was the first time I felt like BMW considered ‘me’ something to be proud of.
p.s. heaven’s forbid but I actually thought the X1 looked alright, so maybe I need to cut back on the wine with my evening meal. š

That advert really shows off how diverse the BMW range is, in size as well as design, not to mention tackling the concept of car ads in a slightly different way. So top marks to BM for a quality add instead of boring ones like the current Passat one!
Also i’ll have to agree with my dad on this one and say the X1 looks pretty damn cool! i’ll have one!

This is a well made and well thought video. But for godĀ“s sake, whatĀ“s with the “efficient-whatever”. Nobody really cares, it is no more than a new tax and it will be better if they say “we want to tax you because we need money” than this “world-awaking-green-nonsense”.
I do not say pollution isn“t important, i would love to drive a 500hp lambo petrol-powered doing 100mpg but not brainwashing the people“s mind.
