A 1965 Aston Martin DB5 will join the Silverstone Classic auction next month and is expected to sell for between £275,000 to £325,000.
It’s just a year newer than the car made famous by the James Bond film Goldfinger and is one of the finest remaining examples of the DB5 breed.
The car was fully stripped and repainted earlier this year in Royal Blue metallic by Specialised Paintwork of Reading, while its interior has received a complete re-trim in Mink Bridge of Weir leather including a replacement headlining.
The shiny bits have been professionally re-chromed along with full detailing of the engine bay, wheel arches and underside.
It also received a near 18 month, no expense-spared restoration from the likes of Aston Workshop and HWM Aston Martin including an upgrade to run on unleaded fuel, water pump overhaul, reconditioning of the starter motor and replacement of various other consumables and components.
The auction – which takes place at Silverstone circuit over the weekend of the world’s biggest classic motor racing festival – will also include modern sports cars, classic motorcycles, a wide variety of automobilia and a comprehensive lifestyle collection (leather goods, watches and antique jewellery).
The 1965 Aston Martin DB5, along with other lots, will be available to view as well as other lots on Friday 26th July and the morning of the sale on the 27th in the Silverstone Wing Building.
