I can only assume that I am way outside the target audience for these ads, since at first (and for quite a while) I really didn’t get them. Zubi Advertising – a leading US Hispanic agency were tasked with the brief to convey the power and acceleration of Ford’s new Mustang GT500 in a series of print ads.
The solution they came up with is captured within the following three images, which are currently appearing in magazines and on bill boards throughout the USA. Not figured it out yet? Well apparently the idea behind each of the images is that the power and performance of the new Mustang GT500 is so extreme, that travelling anywhere is just like having it located next door.

Ford believe that the GT500 is an icon and that its power places it above any other sports car – hence the need for a suitably dramatic set of ads. Just to refresh your memory, the new 2011 Mustang GT500 is powered by Ford’s 5.4-litre supercharged V8 engine that’s capable of delivering 532 bhp and 510 lb-ft. of torque and achieving 0-60 mph in 4.1 seconds.

So it’s fast but perhaps not the ‘time machine’ suggested by these ads.
