Two weeks ago, Land Motorsport went for the outright lap record of the Ring in their 997 RSR. They achieved 7:03.28, but on the next lap this happened…
He managed a time of 7:03.28 but on his next lap entering the Fuchsroehre his right-rear tyre deflates. At the time of impact he was traveling at 268 km/h (165mph). Thankfully he walked away with only concussion and bruising and is now resting at home.
