As with the recently updated RS 5 Coupé, the Cabriolet will be powered by a high-revving 4.2-litre V8 engine producing 444bhp and 317lb-ft (430 Nm) of torque, mated to Audi’s standard seven-speed dual clutch gearbox and all-wheel drive Quattro drivetrain.
With a difference in kerb weight of 205kg between the S5 Coupé and Cabriolet, we expect the RS 5 Cabriolet to tip the scales at around 1930kg.
We can’t promise you anything mind-blowing – it is ‘just’ a cabriolet variant of the RS 5 Coupé that’s been available since 2010, but let’s play along with Audi’s teaser and maybe they’ll surprise us..
We’ll bring you further details on Thursday, in the meantime let yourself be spellbound by Audi DTM drivers Rahel Frey and Edoardo Mortara as they speak to you from a secret location in Southern Europe.
Remember, you can try to find them, but you will not succeed..
