More images were leaked yesterday (above) of BMW’s forthcoming new Z4, only to be outdone a few hours later by BMW’s official press images.

That new nose reminds me of the Fisker Karma.. and that’s not an especially good thing.

Not too sure on it myself
[pedant mode]It was the Z3 that was in Goldeneye, the Z4 didn’t come about until 2002 ;)[/pedant mode]

Mark, you’re quite right, both the Z8 and Z3 appeared in Bond movies whereas the Z4 was used in BMW’s short film ‘The Hire’ driven by Clive Owen.
I reckon Owen would have made a much better Bond than Pierce Brosnan, so maybe my deliberate error was just wishful thinking.
This new Z4 was first scooped on the film set of a new Michael Douglas movie, so I wonder if it’s a sign that the Z4 is now aimed more at the ‘older generation’..

Hardtop, hum?!
Sounds like the car will become substantially heavier than the old one. The 3 series also has gained a lot of weight going from soft to hardtop….
So i doubt it handles as good as a 987.

Surprisingly I actually quite like it, looks a lot more muscular than the old one.

Why do all modern car designs make large wheels look so small. I bet it has at least 18″ wheels and yet they look lost in the design at the rear.

I like the shape better than the old Z4……… but to be honest that is damning with faint praise!

I suspect we’d VERY enthusiastic if it had four stubby tailpipes and a 4.0 litre V8…

it looks ok, will probably drive moderately well, and does anyone else think that the interior looks great? However, this or a 370z…my money goes on the Nissan every time.
