British Actor Damian Lewis takes the lead role in Jaguar's new F-TYPE feature film (w/TEASER)

British Actor Damian Lewis (Homeland) will play the lead in a short feature film as part of the F-TYPE launch, called ‘Desire’. The film will be shot in the Chilean desert next month, then released in early 2013.

The announcement was made at the US launch of the new F-TYPE, which took place in front of 350 VIP guests at Paramount Studios, LA.

During last month’s F-TYPE launch at Musée Rodin in Paris, a spokesperson for the studio said the film tells a “genuinely surprising story” for a brand like Jaguar. Actors Jordi Molla and Shannyn Sossamon have also been cast in lead roles, with Molla playing the villain and American actress, Shannyn Sossamon playing the role of a mysterious young woman.

The soundtrack to the film has been written and performed by singer songwriter Lana Del Rey, who is also ‘the face’ of the F-TYPE.

The film tells the story of Clark (Damian Lewis), who delivers cars for a living, running into trouble after a chance encounter with a mysterious, young woman (Shannyn Sossamon) in the middle of a lawless desert. The job was a simple one. Deliver the new Jaguar F-TYPE to a wealthy client. But not everything is what it seems.

When Clark pulls off the road in a remote part of the desert, he soon finds he’s not just in the middle of nowhere, he’s in the middle of a whole lot of trouble. Desire is a story of betrayal, retribution, passion and greed and hopefully a good amount of V8-powered F-TYPE at full chat.

Will it be any good?

Well the track record for this kind of campaign-led production isn’t good – who can forget Aston Martin’s embarrassing espionage movie for the Rapide starring Swizz Beatz? It was called “True Power Should be Shared” and showed why it’s best to leave the spy business to James Bond.
