As we approach next month’s Frankfurt motor show, Audi has released a batch of new images showcasing their quirky 1+1-seat Urban Concept. Described as a technical study into the future mobility needs of city dwellers, the Urban Concept employs the strict principles of lightweight construction, efficiency and sporty performance.
As you can see from the images there is room for two people, their position slightly staggered on leather-covered seats mounted on a carbon fiber-reinforced polymer undercarriage. The driver can adjust the steering wheel and pedals to suit their own body measurements, although with two e-tron electric motors providing the propulsion there’s precious little room for much in the way of luggage.
The Urban Concept is presented in the form of two variants, fixed roof and spyder, both rolling free-standing 21-inch diameter wheels.
The car will make its first public debut at Frankfurt on 13 September.
