Nissan’s honorary Director of Excitement, Usain Bolt, will auction off his one-of-a-kind ‘Bolt Gold’ GT-R this coming Thursday. All proceeds will go to help the Usain Bolt Foundation create educational and cultural opportunities for children and young people, in the Olympic Champion’s home country of Jamaica.

The car will be auctioned on eBay Motors, where Nissan has set up a special storefront page and will be open to residents in countries where the Nissan GT-R is currently sold.

Bidding is set to begin at 12:00 GMT on Thursday, November 22, ending at 11:59 GMT on Sunday, December 2.

The ‘Bolt Gold’ GT-R, is a 2013 model year Nissan GT-R painted the same gold colour as the Olympic champion’s many medals, and was presented to Bolt at an event hosted by Nissan in Yokohama on October 11.

The car will feature a gold plate embossed with Bolt’s signature and his autograph, and be based on the 2013 model year Premium Edition GT-R with the addition of ‘real gold’ fittings added to its bespoke interior.

But it’s not just a unique GT-R that’s up for auction, Nissan will also be auctioning a range of accompanying merchandise including:

  • Autographed Black Closed-Faced BELL Racing Helmet (featuring Nissan and GT-R livery)
  • Autographed Men’s White 1970 Nissan Skyline GT-R Shirt (features 1970-style GT-R logo)
  • Autographed White Nissan GT-R Baseball Cap
  • Autographed Puma EvoSpeed Driving Boots (these were the Driving Boots worn by Bolt during his Oct 11th visit to Nissan)
  • Autographed Gold, Open-Faced Racing Helmet (featuring a Jamaican flag and Nissan decals)
  • Autographed Men’s White 1973 Nissan Skyline GT-R T-Shirt (features 1973-style GT-R logo)
  • Autographed Gold Closed-Faced Aria Racing Helmet (the helmet worn by Bolt as he raced around the Nissan test track in Japan)
  • Autographed Puma Racing Suit (signed and worn by Usain Bolt)
  • Autographed Leather Nissan GT-R Jacket

So, if a gold Nissan GT-R seems a little too ‘bling’ for your taste, there’s plenty more on offer to satisfy the GT-R enthusiast. Visit the charity auction’s eBay page when it opens and get bidding..
