Jean Alesi takes on the Indy 500 in a Lotus
The 96th Indy 500 scheduled to run on 27 May 2012 will see the return to competitive racing of one of F1's most admired drivers. Jean Alesi, who joined Group Lotus as a brand ambassador earlier this year will tackle his first competitive oval race, 10 years after he hung up his helmet from Formula One.

McLaren Automotive sets its sights on becoming a multi-billion dollar business (w/VIDEO)
This weekend's Singapore Grand Prix was a fitting occasion for McLaren Automotive to announce that its Asia Pacific network will be managed from a wholly-owned McLaren subsidiary, McLaren Automotive Asia Pte Ltd, based in Singapore.
McLaren Automotive Asia Pte Ltd will be responsible for all of McLaren Automotive’s regional operations throughout its Asia Pacific network including importation, distribution, logistics, sales, marketing, technical support and financial services for McLaren’s range of high-performance sports cars.

It's launch time for BMW's new M5, a car which delivers the oddly juxtaposed characteristics of more performance with more efficiency, and amidst the vault of images is this one which illustrates the F10 M5's horsepower advantage (552 bhp) over its E60 predecessor (500 bhp).

This is the new Gordon Murray designed electric sportscar
The last time he started with a blank sheet of paper, Gordon Murray created the McLaren F1, so you might be expecting (or hoping) that the phrase 'Gordon Murray designed sportscar' would preface a clever new challenger to Ferrari's 458 Italia. Unfortunately not, but don't lose hope just yet, for this new Teewave AR.1 sportscar is certainly designed to be fun.

IOTD: DTM Oschersleben – to finish first, first you have to finish.. (w/DOWNLOAD)
Sometimes a great photo is all about good timing.. and a little bit of luck. This one from today's DTM race in Oschersleben tells an interesting story. Running 2nd in the race Mercedes driver Bruno Spengler was on course to secure the championship lead, but a technical problem with the front of the car prevented him finishing the race.
