Just in case you were under any doubt as to what this is; Ferrari tuners Novitec Rosso have taken £170k worth of F430 Scuderia and added a supercharger – two of them actually – raising the base Scuderia’s power output from 510 bhp to a claimed 747 bhp, accompanied by 738 Nm of torque.
Novitec Rosso are claiming the title of ‘quickest Scuderia in the world’, and it’s hard to disagree with that, although we’ll have to wait and see if their performance claims are entirely accurate or merely the figment of some over-imaginative marketing exec. For the record the Edizione 747 is quoted as being capable of 0 – 100 km/h in less than 3.4 seconds, 9.4 seconds to 200 km/h and just 22.9 seconds to 300 km/h on its way to a top speed of 351 km/h.
This Bi-Compressor version of the 430 Scuderia has been produced to mark the end of the Ferrari 430 model series and comes with an exclusive matte yellow and grey paint finish.
A supercharger and intercooler are fitted to each cylinder bank of the 430 Scuderia’s V8 engine, running with a maximum boost pressure of 0.53 bar. The intercooling system features its own dedicated water circuit, with the additional radiators located behind a special centrally placed air duct in the front apron.
Despite the addition of forced induction to the Scuderia’s highly-strung engine, engine revs have increased by 200 rpm with 747 bhp now delivered at 8,500 rpm.
Complimenting the two-tone special matte yellow and grey paint, the Edizione 747 adds black taillights, side markers and reflectors, with all carbon-fiber engine components presented with a matte finish.
The chassis has been suitable uprated, sporting Novitec Rosso sports springs which lower the car by 30 mm, although a button in the cockpit enables the driver to raise the ride height by 40 mm to tackle the more challenging speed bumps and driveways. Adopting three-piece 20-inch wheels (1″ larger than standard) in sizes of 8.5Jx20 front and 12Jx20 on the rear, the Edizione 747 is fitted with Michelin Pilot Cup sport tires in sizes 245/30 ZR 20 front and 315/25 ZR 20 at the back.
Some might see this as an abomination of the light-weight, purist Scuderia rather than a tribute, but that won’t stop Novitec Rosso producing this fastest and baddest 430 and charging a suitably high price for the privilege of owning one.
