Porsche will be showcasing a new hybrid model in a world premiere at next month’s Geneva Motor Show. Following the success of the Cayenne S Hybrid, Porsche have described this model as signalling “..a new chapter in the Zuffenhausen company’s ‘Porsche Intelligent Performance’ philosophy.”

The rumours have begun, but reading between the lines and if we take Porsche’s statement at face value, they’ve made no mention of the words ‘concept’ or ‘sportscar’ and they refer to it as a ‘new model’, so we’re looking at something which is likely to reach series production. A Hybrid version of the Panamera 4-door saloon has been rumoured for some time and would be a logical step forwards for Porsche’s Intelligent Performance plan, but would that be big enough to represent a ‘new chapter’? We’ll see.

Joining the new hybrid model will be the European premiere of the 918 RSR hybrid racing car concept, plus the latest special editions of the 911 and Boxster ranges – the 340 bhp 911 Black Edition and 315 bhp Boxster S Black Edition. The 325 bhp Cayman R will also be making its first appearance in front of a European audience.

The new model will be unveiled on 1st March 2011 at the press conference to be held on the Porsche stand in Hall 1, stand number 1050, starting at 7:30 a.m.
